This research examined the new classroom learning environment at Dubai Women's College in the United Arab Emirates after curriculum changes towards more constructivist pedagogy and the introduction of laptop computers. Research participants included parents of students. students, teachers and administrators. Research tools included surveys, classroom observations, interviews and focus group discussions. Four surveys were used: the Parent-Guardian Attitude Survey (PGAS); the Student Revised What Is Happening In this Class?/Technology-Rich Outcomes-Focused Learning Environment Inventory (Student Revised WAH/TROFLEI); the Attitude and Efficacy Questionnaire (AEQ); and the Teacher Revised What Is Happening In this Class?/Technology-Rich Outcomes-Focused Learning Environment Inventory (Teacher Revised WAH/TROFLEI). With the exception of the teachers' questionnaire, which was available only in English, all other instruments were provided in Arabic and English and respondents answered in the language of their choice. The PGAS was paper-based only, but the student surveys were available as paper-based and online surveys. The teacher survey was online only. Survey samples sizes were: 617 parent/guardians; 763 students for the Revised WAH/TROFLEI and 612 students on the AEQ; and 92 teachers. Response rates ranged from 28%-65 and representativeness was reasonable to good.
